Cultural Attunement

Honoring Your Unique Story

Growing up as a first-generation Latino in California, I was immersed in a vibrant community of diverse cultures. These experiences shaped my understanding of the world, not only through my family’s traditions but also through shared values and connections in my community. Living in this dynamic blend challenged my beliefs, ultimately deepening and strengthening them. Later, my academic journey helped me see how diverse cultures can come together to create something powerful—a perspective I carry into my work today, honoring the richness of every individual’s story.

Language and Connection

While I provide therapy in both Spanish and English, I also understand that language itself is deeply personal. For clients whose preferred language is different from mine, I welcome the use of a translator or other methods of effective communication.

Even when shared words are limited, connection and understanding can flourish through careful attention to nonverbal cues, emotional attunement, empathy, and presence. Together, we will create a space that feels authentic, respectful, and supportive of your cultural and linguistic needs.

Take a step toward therapy that honors your experiences, values, and voice.
